Dr Calder and Dr Emmons will present a Canine Aggression Case Study in this webinar.

This is a case report of Opie who presented for generalized anxiety, aggression towards unfamiliar people, aggression towards familiar people, and aggression at the veterinary hospital. Medical conditions that contributed to his behavior and medication intervention along with training and behavior modification.

Your Presenter –Christine D. Calder DVM DACVB

 

Dr. Calder has lived and practiced veterinary medicine in both New Jersey and Maine for many years. In addition to general practice, Dr. Calder spent time as part of the behavior service at San Francisco SPCA and in Community Practice as part of several veterinary school teaching hospitals. As a general practitioner, she always had an interest in animal behavior and in 2016, she finished a residency with the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists becoming a Diplomate with the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists (DACVB) in 2017. In addition to her own behavior referral practice, Dr. Calder is the Chief Behavior Officer for Cattle Dog Publishing and a Vets at VIN Consultant. She has a special interest in education and the preparation for veterinary students to help them be “Day One” ready for practice.

 

Your Presenter – Dr. S Emmons DVM

Dr. Shannon Emmons is the owner of Eliot Veterinary Hospital in Eliot, ME. As a small animal veterinarian, Dr. Emmons found a particular interest in animal behavior and is currently pursuing a residency under Dr. Christine Calder. She enjoys working with her clients and their pets to address underlying issues that may be contributing to behavior, and to work on improving their human animal bond. When not at work, Dr. Emmons volunteers her time with the veterinary mental health organization Not One More Vet, and enjoys spending time with her husband and herd of animals at home in Lebanon, ME.
