Training Meister – Mastering Fun and Increasing Your Team Knowledge and Skills Webinar Five aims to increase the knowledge and training skills of both dog guardians and pet professionals. You will learn about the science behind the training as well as many of the skills needed to train a pet dog, with a big emphasis on enjoyment.  We firmly believe that all training should be fun but knowledge based.  We also believe in setting the learner up for success.  This applies both to our human learners and their canine buddies


Learning Objectives for Apprentice Webinar Five

  • Learn how to ‘free shape’ behaviors
  • Learn how to ensure minimal error learning and how to reset for success.
  • Learn how to choose an appropriate bridging stimulus to compliment the behavior being taught.
  • Understand the importance of a high reinforcement rate.
  • Understand differential reinforcement
  • Understand constructional programs
  • Gain a deeper understanding of 'clicker training'
  • Understand the pros and cons of the shaping game ‘101 things to do with a box’.
  • Increase your knowledge of the reinforcement process, paying particular attention to the optimal placement and delivery of the reinforcer.
  • Review the meaning of Positive Reinforcement
  • Review Positive Punishment and why you should not use it
  • Understand the term ‘Negative Punishment’.
  • Learn how to teach a Paw target using minimal error learning and differential reinforcement of successive approximations.
  • Learn how to shape a Nose target using minimal error learning.


You will also learn how to teach the following 'tricks'/behaviors: 

On Your Mat (or on your bed)

On Your Mark (a Send-away)

and understand the application of these tricks in everyday life.
