Orlando Summit 2017



Don't forget to secure your spot at PPG's 2017 summit in Orlando, Florida, taking place at the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort on Thursday, November 16 to Monday, November 20, 2017. Download the official summit app as soon as you register. Three value package options are available: the Great Dane, the Golden Retriever and the Border Terrier. The all-inclusive Great Dane offers an early bird special interest-free financing plan. PPG has negotiated competitive rates at the resort during the event, plus three days before and after. New Rescue/Shelter Marketing Collateral for Cats



PPG has now rolled out some new feline rescue resources for rescue organizations to use in their education and adoption packs. They are available, alongside the canine resources, on the PPG website in the members' area with the full high resolution PDFs.   

Join Doggone Safe, Keep Kids Safe


PPG members are invited to join Doggone Safe and become a Be a Tree presenter to help educate communities and keep kids and dogs safe. The new look Be A Tree program features a streamlined logo, a revamped website, and an updated teacher kit for presenters to ensure a consistent and accurate delivery in a fun and engaging manner.

Project Trade Announces March Ambassador

Congratulations once again to Anastasia Tsoulia of Hug4Pets in Thessaloniki, Greece, for swapping five prong collars and who is the Project Trade Ambassador for March 2017. Congratulations too to Brandi Schoenthaler of Cornerstone Dog Training in Colorado, USA for swapping one shock collar, one prong Collar, and one choke collar; Daniel Antolec of  Happy Buddha DogTraining in Wisconsin, USA for swapping two shock collars; and Karen Phillips of Mutts Understood in Texas, USA for swapping one shock collar.

BARKS from the Guild - May 2017 Issue Available Online

The May 2017 issue of PPG's trade publication BARKS from the Guild is now available online. You can also pre-order a print copy of the July 2017 issue, which will have many great, educational articles, and a cover story on living and working with a deaf dog. BARKS is also on Facebook.

If you would like to write for BARKS, either as a regular contributor, or have a one-off article you'd like to submit, please email the editor, Susan Nilson.
Find back issues of BARKS and read any article, blog or press release, as well as a host of scientific studies/educational resources in the PPG Archive.

Places Still Available for Edinburgh Meet

Pet Professional Guild British Isles (PPGBI) is holding a one-day Educational Round-Up in Edinburgh, Scotland on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Only £5 (US$6.25) for PPG members, the event promises to be a great value day of fun, education and networking.

Presenter Applications Open for Sydney Summit

If you would like to present at PPG's inaugural Australia summit to be held in Sydney on July 27-29, 2018, you can now submit your application.

Victoria Stilwell Dog Trainer Course

Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Training & Behavior (VSA) is now registering students for its upcoming June class, the Dog Trainer Course. It is a six-month course primarily completed at home (online and with a local mentor VSA provides). Students are required to travel just twice to Lancashire (UK) for one week each during the course. It is designed for dog trainers as well as anyone working with dog behavior – rescue workers, groomers, vets, vet techs, dog walkers, sitters, etc. The course is perfect for complete newcomers as well as those with medium-level experience with training and behavior.


Kathy Sdao Weekend of Learning

Jo Pay and Lucy Bennett invite PPG members to a Weekend of Learning with Kathy Sdao on Saturday, 23 and Sunday, 24 September, 2017, at the Hallmark Hotel near Manchester Airport, England. Sdao will be speaking about the fundamentals of how animals learn. PPGBI will be in attendance sharing information and resources with the delegates.

Standing Invitation to Join Facebook Groups - All about Cats, Horses

Join PPG All about Cats on Facebook to learn all about cat behavior and ask questions on anything feline related. If you are working in equine behavior or wish to learn more about it, you are welcome at PPG All about Horses.

Depression in Pets Survey

UK-based Dr. Naomi Harvey, zoologist, ethologist, specialist animal behavior and welfare, is conducting a short survey about depression in animals. It takes five minutes to fill out if you would like to contribute to Dr. Harvey's research.

PPG Radio to Host Debates

PPG Radio will soon be hosting positive, productive and educational live debates with industry experts on an array of industry topics, such as jackpots and no reward markers. More details coming soon!
